The Buttermarket
Craft & Design Centre comprises sixteen craft units housed in the restored
early 19th century dairy market. The Buttermarket's unique position in
the heart of Enniskillen makes it the central focus for the thriving craft
industry in Fermanagh.
The buildings have been beautifully renovated and house such diverse crafts
such as pottery, ceramic painting, jewellery making, framing,
textiles, photography, wood turning and a number of artists galleries.
Visitors are more than welcome to call in and watch the craft workers
produce their goods.
The original open market canopy in the centre of the yard has been attractively
closed in, still housing the original wooden beams and cast iron pillars
and brackets. Boston Quay, extensive craft shop displaying quality crafts
from all over Ireland, is located in this building along with Rebecca's
Coffee Shop serving the best home cooking and many traditional favourites.
